I stumbled across something I wrote many moons ago, a Palm Sunday Reflection. It is an eerie reminder of where we are today, what we are and who we have become. It’s appropriate for the days of late and it is appropriate for the days ahead. Things change, people change, I change, you change, we change. It is a story that speaks to the way things are and it gives us hope that things do change. It speaks to what people have become and that they too can change. It speaks of us as individuals and how we are so easily unbridled and come undone over unimportant things and that we all can change for the better. That is, if we reflect and remember and recall what is holy, who is holy, what is happy, who is happy, what is healthy and who is healthy. If we keep our eyes on what Jesus is doing in our midst. During the challenging days ahead, it is spiritual food for thought. Holed-up, quarantined, cooped-up, hunkered down, separated, solitary and sequestered it’s really all the same. We have always been tied to something, tied-down to ourselves, tied-up to something else. Inside each of us is a spirit that wants to be untethered. Every human being wants to be unleashed. Every man, woman, child, every cat and dog want to be released. That’s what Palm Sunday is all about. Separated we can grow close together. Together, we can draw close to God. With God we can change all things for the better. With God we all can be changed for the better. With God we can be changed for good.
The peace of Christ be with you,
